The Paris prosecutor’s office has dismissed the harassment complaint against Frédéric Chaslin.
The Paris prosecutor’s office has dismissed the sexual harassment complaint against conductor and composer Frédéric Chaslin. The case, separate from the French investigations related to Jeffrey Epstein, concerned incidents that American soprano Amelia Feuer said she experienced in 2016. According to the musician’s lawyers, the investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing.
A complaint concerning alleged events in 2016
Amelia Feuer filed a complaint in February 2026. She accused Frédéric Chaslin of offering her career opportunities in exchange for sexual relations and of sending her sexually explicit messages. The conductor strongly denied these accusations.
The Paris prosecutor’s office announced the case was closed without further action on September 24, 2026. According to the lawyers for Frédéric Chaslin, Olivier d’Antin and Emmanuel Daoud, the criminal investigation did not establish « any offense ».
A separate procedure from the Epstein case
The complaint was examined in the context of Frédéric Chaslin’s name appearing in the « Epstein Files, » the American documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. According to the reported information, the composer met with the businessman several times between 2013 and 2019 and exchanged information with him, notably about musical projects.
Frédéric Chaslin is not being prosecuted in the Epstein case. The dismissal of Amelia Feuer’s complaint closes this separate case. It does not, however, end the French authorities’ investigation into the French aspect of the Epstein affair, which the source indicates is still ongoing.
In a letter dated March 19, 2026, the musician’s American lawyer asserted that their relationship had been « extremely limited » and strictly social, and that Frédéric Chaslin had not been the subject of any investigation or prosecution related to Jeffrey Epstein. The composer, for his part, stated that he had hoped to obtain financial support for his projects, without, he said, understanding that Jeffrey Epstein was a predator.
Following his advice, Frédéric Chaslin now wishes to resume his professional and artistic activities. They indicate that he has been severely penalized by the media coverage of the case.
