Anti-Semitic messages from 2013 attributed to Bardella, who denounces them as blatant forgeries
In an investigation published on Monday, September 28, 2026, Mediapart claims to have authenticated private conversations attributed to Jordan Bardella and dating from the summer of 2013. The messages allegedly contain antisemitic remarks written when he was between 17 and 18 years old. The president of the National Rally denies authorship and announces legal action.
Messages attributed to Jordan Bardella
The exchanges reported by Mediapart date back to the time when Jordan Bardella was a young activist in the National Front, a party he joined in 2012. The investigative media outlet indicates that it relied in particular on private conversations, which it says it has authenticated.
Among the statements attributed to the current president of the National Rally, the investigation reports messages alluding to a supposed Jewish domination and a « New World Order dominated by Israel. » Other passages allegedly target Pierre Moscovici, then Minister of the Economy, and express support for Dieudonné. These writings were reported by Mediapart; Jordan Bardella disputes their authenticity and authorship.
The president of the National Rally denounces « crude forgeries »
When contacted by the newspaper, Jordan Bardella rejected the accusations. He denies having made, publicly or privately, orally or in writing, racist or anti-Semitic remarks of this nature. He claims that the documents in question are « crude forgeries » and calls the affair a « smear campaign. »
On social media, he also accused some members of the press of trying to destabilize the presidential campaign. He stated that he had instructed his lawyer to initiate the legal proceedings he deemed necessary.
Jordan Bardella also contested the context put forward by the investigation, claiming that he was not an active member of the National Front at the time and that he was a minor during the summer of 2013. Mediapart, for its part, places these messages at a time when he was between 17 and 18 years old.
Marine Le Pen casts doubt on the investigation
When questioned on Monday during a trip to Paris, Marine Le Pen stated that she had not read the Mediapart article. She nevertheless asserted that the reported information could only be false. The presidential candidate also defended Jordan Bardella, whom she has already presented as her future Prime Minister should the National Rally (RN) win.
This case comes as the National Rally claims a « de-demonization » strategy initiated under the presidency of Marine Le Pen, who took over the party in 2011. Jordan Bardella, a member since 2012, then led the FN federation in Seine-Saint-Denis before taking the helm of the party, which became the National Rally.
In March 2025, Jordan Bardella was invited to Israel by the Israeli government to speak at a conference on combating antisemitism, according to reports by 20 Minutes. At this stage, the accusations published by Mediapart are being contested by Bardella, who calls them false.
