In Metz, a conference on health in border territories will be held on November 24, 2026.
The annual « Border Communities & Territories » conference will dedicate its 2026 edition to the links between health and borders. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Grand Est Regional Council building in Metz. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Healthcare professionals at the heart of the discussions
The conference will open with the presentation of a study by INSEE Grand Est devoted to Luxembourg, identified as the first destination for cross-border healthcare professionals from the Grand Est region.
The program then includes a roundtable discussion on healthcare professions in border regions, followed by discussions on the specific health challenges facing these areas. The meeting will thus address both professional mobility and issues of access to healthcare, although the published program does not specify the topics to be discussed.
A conference organized by six partners
The 2026 edition is organised by the Grand Est Region, the Grand Est regional chamber of accounts, the OREF Grand Est, the Insee Grand Est, the University of Lorraine and the UniGR-Center for Border Studies.
The conference will be held in the Grand Est Regional Council chamber, Place Gabriel-Hocquard, in Metz. The detailed program is available in the document published by the organizers.
